About Samuel
Samuel Holmes is a serial entrepreneur who has spent 14 years building and scaling service-based businesses, with 10 of those years spent implementing B2B software to make them run better. He founded B2Bbrief to share what he's learned in the trenches: which tools genuinely move the needle, which ones over-promise, and how to make smarter software buying decisions without wading through vendor marketing.
Entrepreneurial Track Record
In 2012, Samuel founded Aqua Oasis in New Braunfels, TX: a swimming pool service company he built from the ground up. Over six years he scaled the business to a point of genuine value, then successfully exited in 2018. Aqua Oasis continues to operate and thrive under its new ownership today.
Following that exit, Samuel founded The Aqua Academy in Bend, OR, another pool service and repair company. He applied everything he'd learned, including a more systematic approach to CRM and operations software. He built it to success and completed a second exit in 2024. The Aqua Academy also remains active and flourishing.
Through both ventures, Samuel ran the full stack of a growing service business: sales pipelines, job scheduling, customer follow-up, team management, and reporting. All powered by software. That hands-on experience is the foundation of every review and recommendation on B2Bbrief.

After two successful exits, Samuel saw the same pattern repeating in online software content: reviews written by people who'd never actually used the tools in a real business context.
